Worldviews and The Christian Worldview: Examining the Truth claims of the Christian Worldview
What is a ‘worldview’ and why does it matter? How does my worldview effect the way I live? This course seeks to establish the importance of having a solid Christian Worldview and presents an overview of the primary evidences for the truth of the Christian worldview: including, evidence for the existence of God, the complexity of the design of the universe, and the resurrection of Jesus. This seminar aims to provide the platform from which one may build a solid Christian worldview and will serve as the foundational seminar for the entire Worldview program at Cornerstone Fellowship.
Defense of the Christian Worldview & Answering the Skeptics Objections
This seminar will more thoroughly examine the key evidences for the Christian Worldview. The second part of this seminar will address many of the objections posed against Christianity and the Christian Worldview: such as, if God is so loving, then why is there so much evil in the world?; Christians are hypocrites; The Bible is just another religious book; and many other challenges presented at your nearby water-cooler and public arena. This seminar will also highlight some of the key weaknesses in alternative worldviews.
The Christian view of:
These seminars will examine how a Christian worldview influences various aspects of Christian life. Courses will challenge believers to determine the extent of the Christian worldview and to apply it to their daily life in regards to the Christian view of family, community, work, charity, and entertainment.
The Christian Worldview and:
These seminars will examine the relationship between a Christian worldview and various issues present in the American culture. Each seminar will endeavor to present a fair and balanced approach, covered with love and grace, while at the same time establishing the parameters of the Christian view. Issues will include: abortion, homosexuality, war, and politics; as well as specific issues that may arise.
The Christian and Islamic Worldviews: The Challenge to Christian Monotheism
If, as we will argue in earlier seminars, only a Monotheistic Worldview (belief in one God) is true, then what about Islam? This seminar prepares one to understand the Muslim culture and religion and its claim to be the true monotheistic religion. Examines Muslim claims in regard to the Bible, Jesus, and Christianity. The goal of this seminar is to prepare the body of Christ to share the Gospel with compassion and effectiveness to the Muslim world.
The Claims of Atheism, Humanism, and Buddhism versus the claims of the Christian Worldview
Prepares one to first understand the nature of the worldview of atheism and how this influences atheistic and humanistic approaches to life. This will be followed by an overview of Buddhism and the Buddhist worldview. The objective of this seminar is to provide a level of understanding of what and how those who adhere to this worldview think and act; as well as how one may effectively proclaim the gospel to them.
Looking at the Hindu and Pantheistic claims for Truth
Prepares one to first understand the nature of the worldview of pantheism and how this influences its adherents approach to life. This seminar includes an overview of Hinduism and the Hindu worldview. The objective of this seminar is to provide a level of understanding of what and how those who adhere to the Hindu worldview think and act; as well as how one may effectively proclaim the gospel to them.
Examining Alternative Worldviews: Polytheism, Ancient Greeks, and Mormonism
Prepares one to first understand the nature of the worldview of polytheism and how this influences its adherents approach to life. This will be followed by an overview of polytheistic religions. The objective of this seminar is to provide a level of understanding of what and how those who adhere to this worldview think and act; as well as how one may effectively proclaim the gospel to them.
What is the True Christian Worldview? Looking at the Claims of the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses
Examines the claims of Mormonism and the Jehovah’s Witnesses and prepares one to give an answer to those religions that profess to be Christians but whose understanding of Jesus so radically differs from Scripture that they are best understood as non-Christian cults. Primarily, but not exclusively, focuses on the claims of Mormonism (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
