Admissions & Policies

School of Ministry and Cornerstone Bible Academy

Policies and Procedures
These pages are intended to answer some of the basic questions.  Students enrolling in the SOM must consult the Student Handbook for more details and applications.

Registration
Anyone considering attending a class is welcome to sit in on one session prior to registering for the course.

Application Procedures
1.    Complete an application.
  • School of Ministry applicants submit a School of Ministry application and a Pastoral Recommendation Form.
  • Cornerstone Bible Academy applicants submit a Cornerstone Bible Academy application
2.    Submit the completed forms with the application fee ($25) to the registrar.

Non-Credit Students (Audit Students)
Applicants seeking to take courses as non-credit students (audits) will be allowed to sit in classes providing seats are available for credit students.  Auditing students are only observers (though they may participate in class discussions with discretion), and are not required to complete the course assignments.

Changing Credit/Audit Status
  • Students auditing a class may change their status in a course from audit to credit prior to the third class and pay the additional registration fee.
  • Students enrolled for credit may change their status in a course from credit to audit at any time during the course.
To request a change in status, please notify the registrar.

School of Practical Ministry Track
Students enrolled in the School of Practical Ministry complete core courses the first year.   Students will select a specific ministry option for second year courses.  This selection should be arranged in concert with the Director of the SOM.

Financial Information

Senior Discounts
Applicants aged 60 or older at time of registration are entitled to a senior discount.

Student Discounts
All qualifying students are entitled to a student discount.

Scholarships
Scholarships for registration fees are available by special request; contact the registrar for an application.  We encourage those with financial needs to request assistance.  In some cases, funds may be available for the purchasing of textbooks.

Refunds
Refunds for dropped courses are available by request prior to the third class.  After the third class, refunds requested due to special circumstances will be decided on a case by case basis.

Academic Policies

Attendance Students enrolled in a course for credit are required to attend all classes.   If an absence does occur, the student is responsible for notifying the instructor and contacting the instructor to arrange for all make-up work.  The instructor will consider absences on a case-by-case basis.

Course Requirements
All course assignments must be submitted within one week of the last class session.  Permission may be requested for the submission of late assignments.  Students must submit their request in writing with an explanation of their circumstances that require this extension.  All other late work will be a reduction in grade.  No work will be accepted after four weeks of the last class meeting.

Recorded Sessions
Sessions will be recorded and available for enrolled student to download onto an MP3 player or iPod.  Students without computer access may request to purchase, for a minimal fee, a compact disc of classes for which they are registered.
