The great commission (Matthew 28:19) stipulates that we go into all the world preaching the gospel, and here at Cornerstone we embrace that call. In our experience, those who travel on short-term trips to our various ministries throughout the world return home changed. They can see the world in a new way, and have experienced the grandness of Jesus Christ in a totally unique way. Because of this life change, we encourage all who can to go and allow Christ to inspire them to live missional lives.
In addition, we believe that this “go” mentality is not limited to trips around the world. We are called to “go” down the street and serve those in need right in our own community. Missions is not limited to missionaries, and we embrace God’s call to be servants to those around us, whether we’re in Nakuru, Kenya, or Livermore, California.
We go in the hope that God will call some of us to go into missions vocationally, and that He will inspire the rest of us to live lives that are radically different and globally aware. On our trips we seek to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 13:10), serve those less fortunate than ourselves (James 1:27), and experience God in a totally unique way.
