"Religion that our God and Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." - James 1:27.
Cornerstone offers many opportunities to help people overseas and at home. We’ve sent many teams to our ROHI Boys’ Home in Kenya and to the Gulf Coast to help with hurricane relief. Well, here is your chance to meet the needs of people right here in our local community!
There are many elderly and disabled persons in our community who simply cannot keep up with home repairs; especially those without family in the area. We can’t think of anyone better to serve this often overlooked group than the local church. We think this is a wonderful way to make a positive impact on our community for Christ.
We have already begun to receive monetary contributions. Donations of equipment and materials are being made by local business eager to support this effort. All we need now is a team of willing, servant-hearted people like you!
Our goal is to clean and repair one home per calendar quarter. We’ll visit the selected home and come up with a punch list. Then we’ll organize teams and schedule times for doing the work. We’re looking for as many people to help as possible so these tasks can fit into everyone’s personal schedule.
We have to limit the list of approved jobs to those that do not require city permits or professional labor unless such labor is also donated.
Examples of approved jobs include:
Your donations help to better the lives of local people who really need it and to make our community a better place. Every penny you donate will be used to purchase materials and supplies directly related to Faith in Action.
